Great News.... $8000 Tax
credit Extended until April.
Just waiting on Presidents signature and then it is a done deal. .
Great New.... $8000 Tax Credit Extended. If you want the $8000 tax credit, You must have signed
purchase contract by April 30th and must close no later than June 30th.
That is great news for all those trying find their home and are not in
escrow yet.
Also a reduced credit for $6500 for new home buyers that have owned
their own home for at least 5 years.
Great news for anyone wanting to take advantage of free money to help
you along.

Not sure I agree with more taxpayer benefits to help people buy homes that are already priced ridiculously low already...but what the heck...it looks like it is the law of the land from the land of the entitled.

Hi John!
Well...... I do believe on at least one level it will indeed stimulate the economy. It maybe speeds up someone buying a home that may have waited, Then after buying the home, everyone likes to fix it to their taste which again has consumers spending. So I hope it can be a good thing!

JP - As stated I am no economic expert but I think it will stimulate on some levels that go beyond the housing. For example, I may want to fix and change things in the house, I would hire people to do those items. I will spend more money in stores decorating, updating and upgrading. That in turn will have people spending more which can in turn can result in more jobs.
It has already passed overwhelmingly so I think looking at it in the best possible light is what I choose to do. I realize that unemployment is absolutely in a bad way so I do understand your position but I am not convienced that it is the only viewpoint. On some level economics is very complex and requires years of analysis and studying to determine and even at that, there will be poeple with opposing views. I am a half full kinda gal so I prefer to look at it in a positive light! If the banks keep crumbling and it goes in a more negitive way, high unemployment could in fact get worst. I wish I had the answers to make this all better, but I don't so I work with what I have to do the best I can!

JP - You are entitled to your opinion. I did not make the tax credit so go harass the politicians not me, if you don't like it. Did you vote? Did you look at how overwhelmingly it passed. I do not care to have a political debate with you, I am far too busy. I think you are gross from being offensive to me. This is a real estate site, not a political site. do my best to respect everyone however I do not care to be harassed by YOU!!!
I have not run into 1 home owner that did not spend money to personalize and make the house their own after purchasing.

This is a real estate site and guess what... the fact that people get a tax credit for purchasing a home IS related to real estate. I bet some of your clients recieve the tax credit, put your money where your mouth is, if you are that oppose to it, refuse to do business with people that will benefit from it. THE END!!!

I'm excited that it has been extended and expanded. We need to have something done to help stimulate the housing market and this will do the trick. I'm sure when it comes time to pay the country's "debt" they will come up with more ideas and solutions...it's a never ending cycle just like life.
I'm ready to be busy working with more 1st time home buyers and now some possible move-up/down sizing buyers/sellers. =)
