All Work And No Play

By
Real Estate Agent with CENTURY 21 The Neil Company Real Estate CA 01246324 OR 201207489

You've heard the saying, "all work and no play makes Ray a dull boy."  That statement is so true.  A successful Realtor has to put in long hours has been reflected over and over in interviews with the top agents in the trade magazines but there needs to be balanced.

To avoid burnout we need to give ourselves permission to take a break, to have other avenues to peruse and to take our mind off real estate.  The rule of thumb is to work when scheduled to work, play when scheduled to play.  Don't play during your work time and don't work during your play time.

I have more thoughts on this, let me know if you want to hear more.

Thank you for this. It is important to have boundaries in your life. This is a profession that will eat you alive if you let it. You can easily work until you drop. A "full time" Realtor can easily work 60 plus hours a week. We  need to take time for ourselves and our families.

Our health and well being needs to become more immportant than how many transactions we did or how much money we made. What good is the money if all it does is pay for the medical bills from the stress related illnesses we got earning it???

Vacations are imporant. Hobbis are valid activities. Exercise is necessary. Don't worry. If you do all these things you will meet prospects in the normal course of events and life will be even eaier and better because you will be getingt refrrals from people who know you for the wonderfulperson that you really are.

How true, I have several hobbies and a life outside of real estate.  I have to keep my life balanced.

For the first time in a very long time yesterday, I turned my phone off for 8 hours and took the family out for a fun day at an amusement park. It was very nice!
