How To Keep a Door From Closing By Itself

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with RE/MAX Property Specialists RS294217 / RM423788

I have had a door in my home not stay open it closes on its own.

My husband read in Popular Mechanics that if you take one of the hing pins out hit it with a hammer or used a vise and put a bend in the pin it will cause friction and the door will stay open.

It in fact does work and I wanted to pass it on.

This is "my kind" of home repair - something I can hit with a hammer.  This is a great tip that I'm sure to pass-on to friends, relatives and clients.  Thanks
