Teddy Bears - Up Close and Personal at Winter Lights Walk
Visitors to Gaithersburg's 14th Annual Winter Lights Festival are in for a real treat this year as they get a chance to see the lights up close and personal. The Festival's perennially favorite section, Teddy Bear Land, will be open for a one-mile stroll on Monday, November 30, 2009. Prefer to ride? You can also see the rest of the light displays that evening in an open air trolley. Bundle up and bring a blanket to enjoy the 45-minute ride through the show. Please note that no drive-through traffic will be allowed in the park on November 30.
For City of Gaithersburg residents, admission is $3 per person for either the walk or the trolley ride. Nonresident admission is $4. Children two and under must ride in a stroller, and are admitted free for the walk. Trolley seating is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis. On-site registration is cash only. Advance registration, payable by credit card, is available online at www.gaithersburgmd.gov/winterlights.
The Gaithersburg Winter Lights Festival is held at Seneca Creek State Park, 11950 Clopper Road. It will be open nightly for drive-through traffic December 4 through January 2. It is closed on December 25 and January 1. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. Cash-only admission is $12 per car Monday through Thursday and $14 per car Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
