Some time back we posted a blog about Staging only the Outside of a Home. We weren't sure if just Staging the Outside would have a big enough impact but the Realtor's seamed confident and that's what they wanted us to do. The property was large and there was a big back yard. We brought in serveral pieces to fill the space surrounding the pool.

We got a call within a week, the Realtor's told us that within six days of listing the property they got multiple offers and over asking price. The Realtor's told us that the family that bought it had a little girl around 12 years old that loved the backyard and really wanted her parents to buy the house.

Beautiful! (just like you!) I apprciate your questioning whether only an exterior staging would help. I think that maybe it can, as you have shown. The house must have been great though.

Outdoor spaces are definitely an extension of living space and shouldn't be forgotten. Outdoor spaces like these were probably the #1 selling feature but a buyer couldn't see it with it being staged. Great job!

Linda I can see why the agent wanted the grounds staged. I'm sure the exterior rooms are as important as the interior rooms when you live in California. Now we Canadians about to start another cold snowy yucky winter don't have to worry about that for a few months LOL.

Jane, You are so sweet!!! The house was almost 60 years old...Everything was original including metal cabinets and an "I dream of Jeanie" stove and oven, it had lots of built-ins. I heard after the sale went through that the new owners had already had a contractor in and gave an estimate of 125K to re-do the Kitchen...and it was excepted. Michele, Thank you. I have always believed in Staging the outdoors...but to Stage only the outdoors well it did move me out of my box of thinking. I have done projects before with these Realtor's and as I said they were confident...but I have to tell you I think we were all blown away with multiple offers in six days and selling for over asking price. I know from now on to keep an open mind.

Janice, Never living in snow country I forget how things are where there is snow. I have lived in the San Francisco bay area my whole life and really do appreciate the wonderful weather we have. I wish you all the best this winter and hope it's not to cold of a one. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful staging. You transformed this yard into a great selling point. So often folks don't think their yard is that big of a deal. It is!!! We want to paint pictures of life inside and outside to get people to envision how fun it will be to live in these spaces. You've done that so well with this outdoor make over.
