WATER BOTTLES???

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Kima Real Estate Group

Are any of you giving away goodies at open houses?  I have stumbled on to an idea that may work for me and wanted to share it.

I buy bottled water from an un-named club store and peel off the labels easily.  I print labels with my picture, contact info etc onto a clear label and put them on these bottles.  I keep them cold and give one to every visitor.  NO OTHER REALTOR IS DOING THIS IN MY MARKET!  Great feedback thus far.  Any other thoughts or ideas?

That's a great idea- I'm sure that your prospects at the open houses appreciate it (and a water spill is never a problem on carpet)!

Hi Peter, that is a good idea and more economical than ordering the water with your name on it already.

Great idea, do you have your labels printed or do you do it yourself?

Peter,

I had thought of doing this but I always wonder about the sticker/label not being about to withstand the condensation on the bottle.  What labels do you use?

Thank you for the positive feedback.  I do these labels myself and they are very easy to do.

NOTE, you cannot submerge your drinks in ice as the labels will come off.  I refrigerate mine.  Also, I transport these with clients in the car on dry ice in a cooler.

Thanks Peter!  I do recall seeing privately-labeled bottles at an open house.  I thought it was pretty cool at the time but then forgot about it.  Your post is a good reminder to actually take action.  I wonder if there is any kind of a liability issue with removing the original label???  I haven't heard any reports of bad bottled water but I have heard some horror stories of where it actually comes from.  I think I'll look at leaving the original label and adding my own.

That's a good idea. There was a guy handing out water bottles to the runners at the finish of a race. It was good advertisement for his business.

I've done this and people love it!  I take is a step further and include the address and a picture of the home as well.  That way my name and the home is in their mind ALL afternoon. :)

Hi Peter,

Actually, I have been doing that for a while (when I do, do open houses).  Sometimes when I'm running low and didn't go to the store, I will grab some from "our" in house lender (you know who) and put my label over theirs.

Another idea would be to put your labels on snacks such as granola bars, snack bars, etc.

Do not market with anything people throwaway. Candy Bar's water bottles, mints.
