With Agent Pools Shrinking, VA Home Loans and Refinances Have Skyrocketed in FY 09
This is a release from VAMC we are putting out for Missouri Realtors.
Veterans and their families are buying homes in record numbers, but only a handful of Missouri real estate agents are capitalizing on that windfall.
That’s why VA Mortgage Center.com, the nation’s leading VA home loan specialist, has released a game-changing resource for real estate agents who have yet to tap into this deserving demographic.
The “VA Loan Report: Realtors’ Edition Missouri” is an easy-to-digest guide that explains the benefits, eligibility requirements and buying power of VA loans in the Show Me-State.
Myths and misconceptions about VA loans have long kept many agents from exploring their potential. But these increasingly popular loans can mean big money for educated agents.
“This is a dynamic and deserving demographic that can significantly boost an agent’s book of business,” said Nathan Long (that's me! ha), CEO of VA Mortgage Center.com. “Government-backed loans are only poised for expansion in 2010 and beyond. Agents who aren’t familiar with VA loans are going to be left behind.”
The VA Loan Report provides agents with breakdowns of VA loan basics, including information on:
· The Current Landscape of VA Loans
· VA Loan Limits and Appraisals
· VA Refinance
· And much more
The Department of Veterans Affairs guaranteed more than $68 billion in single-family loans for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, an 80-percent increase from last year. The VA also guaranteed more than 144,000 refinances in FY ‘09, a staggering 300-percent increase from FY ‘08.
These flexible, low-cost loans allow qualified veterans to purchase a home worth up to $729,000 without a down payment. The VA has helped more than 18 million service members achieve the dream of homeownership since World War II.
Missouri is home to more than 530,000 veterans, but only a fraction have taken advantage of their VA loan entitlement. At the same time, the number of registered Realtors in Missouri has fallen 8 percent since 2007.
Agents who can cater to those who served our country will quickly set themselves apart.
The Missouri edition is the first in a series of state-specific resources geared toward helping Realtors capture a slice of this increasingly lucrative market.
