Morehead City

Williams Hardware in Morehead City, North Carolina opened their doors more than 30 years ago.  They have an excellent reputation throughout the community and offer expert advise to help you with any project you may be trying your hand at.  They carry just about anything you could ever need from a hardware store and then some.  If they don't have it, they can get it or tell you where to find it.

Morehead City

From Boating gear to landscaping & gardening supplies, they've got it.  If you need to build a fence, they've got what you need.  They will even give you instruction if needed.  Williams Hardware may be the only place in Morehead City, where you can buy "one" nail.  Why would they make you buy a whole box if you only need just one!?  If you need to have a key made...no problem.  I had a key made at a "Big Chain" store one day because it was convenient and later when I tried the key...it wouldn't work.  Instead of driving across town to get it fixed, I stopped by Williams to have another made.  He took the key that the "Big Chain" store had cut and buffed it down for me.  WMorehead Cityhen I tried to pay him, he said, "No charge today, just remember to come here first next time"!  I have never had a key made anywhere else since (and as a REALTOR®, I need a lot of keys).

If you are planning that perfect camping trip with the family...stop by Williams Hardware, where you'll find everything you need.  Getting ready to host a neighborhood Bar-B-Q?  You will find the best grills and accessories available at Williams (you'll Morehead Cityhave to go next door to the grocery store to get the steaks tho'). If you need a picnic table or the perfect front porch swing you will find that at Williams Hardware too.

Morehead CityI was at Williams Hardware just this morning, and before I could even get out of my car, I was greeted with a friendly, "Good Morning" from W.R. Beasley of Williams Hardware.  He then welcomed me into the store (before operating hours, I might add) and asked what I needed help with.  That's good ol' customer service if you ask me!  If you need a hardware store in the Morehead City area in North Carolina, Stop by and see W.R. Beasley and the rest of the "family" at Williams Hardware. You can find them there 7 days a week, year round and they are always friendly and willing to help you with all of your hardware needs.

Fortunately Alexandria has seen the "re-birth" of several hardware stores similar to this  - such a nice touchstone in an otherwise impersonal retail environment.

Amy, I love those hardware stores, I used to go to one in Philly (we're losing 7-1) and I always wondered how they always had what you needed, what appeared to be a closet was a stairwell to the basement and literally every square inch of every wall was covered in stuff!!!

And the owner could talk about any subject you cared to bring up.

Hi Amy -- I always prefer to go to a local hardware store over the big box stores.  They are much more knowledgable, helpful, friendly and you can more easily find your way around, get in and out, and overall, it's a much better experience -- at least for me.

Amy,  More than likely the original owners of Williams Hardware were relatives of my husband.  He has lots of relatives named Williams who owned property and businesses from New Bern all the way down to Atlantic Beach.

Williams Hardware sounds great.  I love these well established small town establishments that are so much more interesting and fun to go to than the "big guns" when you are in need of sound advise.  You almost always find friendly folks who care and want to help, great info and historical facts.

Nice post and I hope Williams and other small town businesses will continue to survive and thrive despite the current economy.

Thanks everyone for stopping by.  Williams is a great local place with a lot to offer.  I have been in their store hundreds of times and they are always so helpful and friendly (they don't even get grumpy when my four year old is running uncontrollably through the isles...I do, but they don't).

Wow, I forgot about that place, used to go there all the time with my dad when I lived in Morehead.

Do they still have the parrot in the store? [There used to be a big bird that stayed perched up near the front].

Raine, No Parrot up front anymore, but the place is still great...some things never change (thank goodness).

Liz, Now I have Runaway Bride on the brain.  Have a great day!

This is the hardware store of the 50's where the customer is No#1.  If you need something the salestaff are professional and know where to find it and wont be overbearing during your shopping experience.  They are professional, knowledgeable and make you truly feel at home.  If your in the area for a true shopping experience that you will remember for years go to this hardware store and you will be sold! The customer is spoiled by the great service!  Thank you for you service!!!
