Free WIFI for Gwinnett county and City of Decatur

I just heard that the city of Decatur and Gwinnett County will be rolling out city wide free WIFI, how cool is that.  This is all possible thanks to a grant provided by a grant from State of Georgia.  These two communities are two of six communities that will be awarded this grant.   This will program will be rolled out in phases begining  this summer.

I am absolutely shocked that more cities haven't hopped on this band wagon. I think Tempe, Az is doing it and LA has a plan to have it complete within a certain time frame.

It's fine if other people want to use WiFi laptops, but don't let that stuff near my kids! I hope no Decatur school buys into the idea of massive school computer rooms with radiating wireless internet computers near young developing brains.  There's nothing wrong with wires people! Don't experiment with microwave radiation with my kid!

I understand and there are certainly things that we must keep away from our children.  I like the idea of free WIFI for myself since there are times I need to hope on my laptop and need to find a hot-spot.

Congrats.  There definitly needs to be more cities with free wifi.  Here in Downtown Denver we have free wifi which is nice when your at a coffee shop and you dont want to pay starbucks for their wifi.
