NAR 2009 San Diego

Just one week to go! I'm so excited to be going to the NAR convention in San Diego next week. I was looking for a group to see if anyone had planned any get togethers for the ActiveRain community, but didn't see anything, so I started a new group. I called it NAR 2009. How original. If there is already one out there that I can't find, someone please let me know.

I really appreciated Kimberly Dotseth's post on restaurant recommendations in San Diego. I have never been to San Diego so I wouldn't have a clue about where to go. So thank you Kimberly.

Who else is coming to the convention? Is anyone reading this teaching a class or exhibiting at the trade show? I learn so much on ActiveRain, I wouldn't want to miss it if any of you are actually going to be a speaker.

I will be at REBar Camp.  Are you popping in there?  But I am just driving down for the day.  I am also trying to find someone to car pool.  No luck so far.

If I was there I would have looked this group up. I think this is a wonderful idea! It just wasn't in the financial cards for me this year. First one I,ve missed in years.

Jane, I should probably know, but I do not - what is the REBar Camp?

Rob, I hate you are missing it. Not a great financial year, but I plan on making any money I spend back with what I learn! I've only missed one since 2000, that was 2001. I got lucky this year and won a $500 scholarship which actually paid for the convention and my airline ticket. I'm just paying food and lodging, and I was able to get one night comped from my AMEX card. Next year is New Orleans. Hope you can make that one.

i didn't know what it was either.  I kept seeing it all over AR.  Apparently they are set up all over the country for free by people in the social networking know.  Apparently it is a way to learn about the latest technology, how to use things like Facebook, etc.  And, also I hear, a great networking opportunity.  If you make it I will see you there.

Thank you so much. I wish I had known sooner. I don't arrive in San Diego until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, so please share your knowledge after camp.

How do you find out ahead of time? I'm definitely going to New Orlean next year. It's in driving distance and so no flights to book. I can go early.
