While vacationing in Seattle Washington in the summer, I had the wonderful thrill of being shown around the state by my son who was doing an internship at Microsoft. I never dreamed I would find the sheer beauty that I discovered while visiting there. Here are a few of my favorite photos that illustrate why Washington captured my heart:

You know, Seattle is one of the places I first want to visit, when I get the passport I need to travel to the USA. It's absolutely beautiful.

Lovely photos of a lovely state, Dan! Although I've lived all over the world, I keep coming back to Washington State, and I think this third time is the charm! I'll be staying here for the duration.
Glad you and your family enjoyed your visit here. The diversity is amazing! Just last week I was riding on the ferry, and saw a gray whale right off the bow, blowing water and flicking his tail. Two days later, it was a group of dolphins. And that's just during a regular work commute to tour some homes on Bainbridge Island. Not bad, eh?
Hope your son is enjoying his time at Microsoft. About 1/2 of my clients work at Microsoft and I always hear amazing stories about the company. It's tough to get an internship at Microsoft, so you must be very proud!

I have good friends who live in Bainbridge. After living all over the world as well (military), they decided to settle down there with their family.
My son Michael is a hard worker and quite the programmer. I am very proud of his accomplishments. He is everything in his twenties that I would like to be at my rightful (frightful) age of 52!
Bainbridge is a great community! Although I primarily work on the other side of the water in the Redmond/Eastside market, I spend a significant amount of time helping the eastside folks purchase second/vacation/retirement/rental homes on Bainbridge Island and other parts of Kitsap County (lived there so know it well). It's not surprising that your friends decided to settle down there. Kitsap is an EXCELLENT investment area for people, with the lower pricepoint of homes, high demand for rentals (military communities), lots of saltwater coastline, and great local sense of community.
It's wonderful to be proud of your kids. But if you can look up to them as well, that says a lot of good things not only about Michael, but about his upbringing as well. Good job! ;)
