How to Interview a Real Estate Agent to sell your home!

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Premier

There are hundreds of real estate agents in our area.  Choosing the right one for the sale of your home can be confusing.  It is especially difficult when you speak with serveral different agents, and they all seem so convincing.

There is a way to find an agent who will most likely suceed in getting your desired price and terms.  The key is to ask the right questions.  The following list provides you with questions to ask your prospective Realtor.  The list will not only help you select the right Realtor, but also get you the very best from the one you choose.

  1. Do you work as a full-time Realtor?
  2. How many listings do you have at this time?
  3. How many potential buyers and sellers do you talk with each day?
  4. In what ways will you encourage other Realtors to sell my home?
  5. Do you have a system to follow-up on thoer agents so that we get valuable feedback after every showing?
  6. How many properties have you sold within the past 6 months? 90 days? 30 days?
  7. Are you on the Internet exposing my property to millions of buyers instantly?  If yes then how?
  8. What is my property worth?  What listing price do you recommend?  How did you arrive at this price?
  9. How will you assist in my relocation plans?
  10. Do you have a written marketing plan designed to sell my home quickly and for top dollar?

Hello, David, and welcome to Active Rain.  Congratulations on your first blog.  I approached the same topic a little differently a few days ago in Do Your Homework Before You Choose An Agent - which is part 1 of 2.  When I get around to writing Part 2, I might have to quote you on an idea or two of yours.  Good luck with your ActiveRain adventure.  Margaret Woda, Crofton MD

Hey, V-Flyer works!

I’d like to personally welcome you to ActiveRain!

I think you’ll find this to be a very warm and giving network.

I’d like to suggest that you take a moment and make sure your profile is complete.  From your picture, to the contact info, to the description, to the testimonials!  Make sure it is all complete and to your liking.

Next, check out and bookmark the ActiveRain Community Resource Post.  I say “bookmark it” as you’ll find yourself searching again and again for this single informative post.

Then check out some of the groups specifically designed to help you here in ActiveRain.  I’ll give you two to start with:  The Active Rain Newbies and the Practice Here! Groups.  Read the directions for each group and feel free to ask plenty of questions.

Welcome to AR Dave,

Congratulations on your first blog. Way to jump out there and test the waters! As a copywriter and creative thought leader, I'll need to "digest" your points and see how I might contribute to your excellent list.

Because most agents tend to say the same message online, I like to ask what makes you and your services unique? Another s words, what is your UPS? Your unique positioning statement?

I'll check back later. Thanks for the thought provoking first post!

Amen to this!

Don't forget to get a pre-listing inspection to help sort out any issues before it hits the MLS and homebuyers.
