It's coming.  Like it or not, the holiday season is here.  We've made it through Halloween, on its heels is Thanksgiving and then with a blink of the eye , we have Hanukkah and Christmas.  It always seems that we pack about 3 or 4 months of effort and activities into about 2 months.

We have a solution.  Hire someone to help with your holiday decorating!

Announcing--Holiday Design by Marla-- We will work with you to design the perfect holiday decoration plan for your business or home.  We focus on interior Christmas trees but we can add wreaths, garlands, centerpieces or other decor that will enhance the festive holiday atmosphere of your space.

All of are trees are custom and unique.  You will not find the same tree anywhere else.  These are some of the trees we have done:

•¨      Simple Elegance- decorated in shades of bronze and chocolate and accented with cream-colored Magnolia blossoms.

•¨      Victorian Tree- decorated with roses, doilies, hydrangeas, red and gold ornaments.  The result is a very traditional tree, reminiscent of the Victorian era with a modern twist.

•¨      Woodland Tree- inspired by the beauty of nature found in pinecones, berries and floral.

•¨      Retro-modern tree- decorated with "funky" ornaments in turquoise, lime green and dynamic blues.

Our tree decorations are available for sale or for rent.  We will place the decorations on your tree or you can rent a tree from us!

Never thought about renting a tree?  These are a few of the benefits of rental:

•¨      Someone else does all of the work of set up and take down.

•¨      You don't have to find a space to store it for the remainder of the year.

•¨      You can change your look from year to year.

•¨      You are guaranteed a professional result.

Wouldn't it be great to have that stress-free holiday season that you have always dreamed about?  Call us if we can help.

My wife and I were just talking about how fast they would be here. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas it will be a whirlwind.

Marla, what beautiful trees!  What is your advice for a home seller who wants to put up a Christmas tree?

Thanks Gary,

That is a tough one.  Generally, I would say to a home seller, "Don't do it!".  Christmas trees are very personal and when you are selling your house you want to de-personalize it.  However, especially if there are children in the home and a tree is an important part of the family's holiday celebration, I would suggest that a small, tastefully decorated tree would be OK.

You definitely don't want a tree in the MLS photos.  You don't want to have any seasonal decor in the photos, in case the house doesn't sell right away.  That leaves an immediate message in the mind of a potential buyer that the house has been on the market for awhile and there must be something wrong with it.

How funny!  I just put up a coupon for Holiday Decorating before I logged in to AR this morning.  What I hadn't thought about was renting decorated trees.  That's a great idea.  I would love to know if you get many takers.

Kim, Have you offered holiday decorating in previous years? How did it go? I did some research on rental and it seems that it is more popular in the UK. I'll let you know how it goes. LOL, personally I'd rather sell than rent so that someone else has to store it!!! We'll take what we get. Marla

Your trees are beautiful!  I'm in the Christmas spirit, I worked on my outdoor pots this weekend.  I removed the Summer plants and added greens, berries, and pinecones.  I jumped from Summer to Winter.  I decided to skip Fall decorations this year.

Hi Sharon, I always tend to skip Fall- not sure why because I like fall colors. It's hard to believe that winter is approaching here. The car thermometer said it was 85 degrees outside today in So Cal. Life is beautiful and Christmas is coming!! Happy Holidays! Marla
