When I first started in Real Estate one of the things that I found most confusing was the Alphabet Soup that seems to go with Real Estate Agents. GRI, ABR, CRS, and several others to boot. What does it all mean? Better yet why does it matter?
Most people I've talked too I ask this question:
Do you know what those letters mean?
More often then not I get a confused look and people tell me they have no idea what they mean but it must be something good, right? The general public seems fairly oblivious to them and so was i.
So I did what most people do when they don't know something. I looked it up. In my next few blog posts I'm going to take a look at these designations and as I learn more, share what information I glean from it all with you. Who knows, maybe together we'll figure this all out together!
Before I start delving into all this, how about a quick idea of what terms I mean and what those letters stand for.
ABR: Accredited Buyer Representative
CRS: Certified Residential Specialist
GRI: Graduate REALTOR Institute
SRES: Senior Real Estate Specialist
CCIM: Certified Commercial Investment Member
If you have seen any others I've not listed and would like to know more, I'll be happy to research them and add them to this list!
Thanks for reading and I hope your summer is going fantastically so far!
