One of the most effective ways to 'touch' our potential buyers and sellers is through a regular client email newsletter.   You don't have to be a computer geek to to create your own effective Real Estate email newsletter. There are many email programs like MailChimp and Constant Contact  that are easy to set up and use. Your focus should be on relevant content .

Email Marketing Email newsletters have a number of benefits over direct mail,  including it's more  cost effective,  it's instant for conveying 'hot' news,  you can track results, it's easy for your clients to pass along , it allows for the addition of other resources such as hot links to your website, market stats etc.,  it is easy to set up and it saves trees- It's Green!

It is best when you send direct mail that you design your piece to be printer and mailing friendly. Creating an appealing ormat can take time and involve spending hours with publishing programs. Most email service providers, on the other hand, offer a variety of templates for your newsletter, so all you need to do is add your text and voila'!

Writing an effective newsletter isn't rocket science, but there are a few tips to help.

1 - Use a table of contents - If you have multiple sections to your newsletter  include an "In This Issue" section that lists each of the topics you will cover.

2 - Keep it brief - It is often best to highlight your key points and link to additional content that isn't as pertinent.

3 - Format it for easy reading - Make your newsletter easy to read by breaking up large chunks of content into sections. Use bolded text, bulleted lists, and subheads just like you would on your website

4 - Include a eye catching subject line - The subject of your email must capture people's attention and get them to keep reading.

5 - Include your name in the "from" field - People skim the contents of their inbox, so if they don't recognize the email is from you, they will delete it.

6 - Proofread - Nothing more unprofessional than a marketing piece riddled with spelling erors and mistakes. Check your email for spelling or grammatical errors before you send.

7 - Be compliant with laws - Email laws require that you include your full contact name and address along with a way to opt out of the newsletter.

8- Use relevant content pertaining to your local market - local Real Estate housing trands and market stats are great along with articles about local trends and happenings.

Email newsletters can be a quick, cost-effective way to follow up with prospects. They are simple to set up and easy to track the results and effectiveness.  You can ask your clients for feedback too!

I'd love to hear your idea for a great, catchy, effective newsletter

Great posting.  I use Constant Contact as a weekly newsletter generator and I find it to be a great client email campaign.

Great tips Jennifer. How often do you send out your newsletter? I started to send one out earlier in the year, but never kept it going. That's going to have to be something I add to next years goals.
