Are you GREEN?

I just completed the National Association of REALTORS® Green Designation course today and it was a real learning experience. Living in Austin, TX I am constantly reminded to reduce, recycle and reuse so I had a personal interest in taking this class as well as helping my clients. The National Association of REALTORS® created NAR's Green Designation to provide ongoing education, resources and tools so that real estate practitioners can successfully seek out, understand, and market properties with green features.  The course curriculum requires completion of a 12hr Core Course and a 6hr Elective Course in either residential, commercial, or property management.  The Green Designation gives designees the tools to become a client resource in green building practices and sustainable issues.

I chose the residential elective course and I received numerous helpful bits of information that I look forward to sharing with my clients and my fellow colleagues on my Activerain Blog as well. Currently in Austin there are around 60 licensed REALTORS® with the Green designation. I will proudly display those 5 letters GREEN after my name because this will confirm my dedication to continuing education and providing current information my clients can find useful.

For more information about the GREEN designation go to the website www.GreenREsourceCouncil.org.
