Porsche - Now available in a 4-door Model

Porsche - It's true .... Porsche has launched a 4-door sedan called the Panamera.

I was surprised by the success of the Porsche SUV - the Cayenne - which was launched in 2003.

The Porsche Cayenne was not a particularly handsome looking SUV .... and it's interior was not the most practical with a limited cargo area. Yet the Cayenne sold well. (I still can't understand if the badge is what sold the SUV or the actual styling, engine and features).

So it will be interesting to see how the market responds to a 4-door Porsche sedan.

Personally, the whole thrill of a Porsche was the tight, responsive drive characteristic of the selfish 2-door version.

Stewart, I guess Porsche is trying to expand their market but I also prefer the "selfish 2-door".  Actually 2-door, 2-passenger is perfect selfishness.  I am still pissed at Jaguar for making a 4-passenger XKE

Stewart,

I'm a big fan of the sport sedan class and I think Porches did an awesome job with this one.  I bet they're going to be hard to get hold of.  There is just something about about sedans that will hit the 0-60 mark in under 5 seconds.

Hi Stewart... I have a feeling that, like the Cayenne, the Panmera will take a while to grow on me.

This car is actually pretty sleek-looking. Unless there has been some Photoshopping going on.

It doesn't look like sitting in the back seat is going to be much of a treat, though. And sticking a child's  safety seat in the back kinda defeats the whole purpose of having a Porsche.

Cheers,

Robin

I love that car.  I wish i could get my hands on one.  I love the Cayennes too.  We had one for awhile and it was a pretty nice but we are definite car people here so we weren't happy with the truck feel of it.  I still admire them when I see them on the road though.
