This was taken at a recent shoot, where the perfect angle happened to be in a very inconvenient location.  Never fear......is that a bit of super hero cape sticking out there?

Yes, you do see him on a ladder, on the back of a Hummer, in the turning lane of a busy highway.

I know we've got to be crazy.  (Matt a little more so than myself - you don't see me up there!)  But we realize the importance of that first impression.  Our entire business is built on making the best first impression!

So if we've gotta stay a bit longer than scheduled, or work a bit harder, or climb up a ladder on top of an SUV in the middle of a 5 lane road at noon on Friday to get the shot, well I guess WE WILL!!

When it comes to getting the right picture good photographers will do whatever it takes to get the shot.  What is the subject of Matt's picture?

HI Rick!  Agreed!

We were shooting the only corner lot left on a major road in town.  The subject of this particular photo was what's across the street.  But we needed to show the buildings and business beyond the ones right on the road.  So he had to position the camera up high to show the immediate business and the hills and businesses beyond them.

I use a pole for this type of shot and yes I've taken the shot from the middle of a busy road many times before.  The only thing about the pole is that it allows me to go from 6 to 30 feet up without increasing my risk of injury from a fall.  Now my risk of electrocution from the power lines overhead has increased, but we all have to make trade offs.
