Cool pipcs, Renee. The Blue Angels were just here for our big air show. I heard them but did not get to the show due to clients. Impressive stuff when I have seen it in the past.
Jeff
I got to see the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels a couple of years ago. The ground show is almost as impressive as the air show.
I love when the Blue Angels head our way but I have never seen them up close like you saw the Thunderbirds. What a treat for sure.
I have seen this precision flying team in action several times. I am always amazed at what they can do... Helping YOU Live YOUR American Dream...
Great pictures and I am glad to see you are able to take a little time off from work now and then! ;-)
Jeff: Impressive indeed! Last year when I went it was cloudy & raining so sometimes you could even see them coming and it would scare they you know what out of you. I have been stuck on I15 traffic before and able to watch them maneuver in the desert. It's a plus when you are just sitting there doing nothing!
Nathan: Absolutely! It is Nellis AFB's open house for Veteran's Day weekend so the display of planes that we can meander in and out is amazing too!
Heather: You are very welcome!
Martha: Last year my friend got us seating in the VIP area. Talk about way cool and we were front and center. I had to worm my way to the front of the crowd just to snap a few of those shots. Then I stepped back for the show when they were actually in the air. Very cool!
Michael: I can't believe how close they fly to each other, amazing and precision is the best word to describe it!
Russell: Well of course!
Renee, I like seeing the craggy mountains in the background, very cool looking. I love air shows too!
Renee, cool photos! Was this from the Air show this past weekend? Another question, do the Thunderbirds still train at Nellis? I haven't seen them for a long time. We used to see them nearly every time that we would go to Las Vegas.
Renee, I love this, Thanks for the memories, as you know I grew up in the Air Force and love to watch the Thunderbirds.
They really do some amazing things. Isn't it crazy how close they get to one another? I'm not sure I could do it. Thanks for sharing!
Rich: That mountain is Sunrise Mountain. Probably because the sun rises over it, LOL!
Tony & Darcy: Yes it was yesterday (and Sat too!) Tbirds still train at Nellis and I love catching a glimpse of them every now and then when driving up north towards Utah! Their LV airshow and open house is usually the weekend following Veteran's day so come out next year!
Debbie: You are welcome!
Carissa: I know I couldn't do it. They would do their maneuvers and I kept on telling my husband "I think I woulda lost my lunch right about then". He kept saying "You would lose your lunch upon takeoff!"
Renee - I have never seen an air show, but I'm sure it's very entertaining. Great pics!
Ut Oh Renee...
Nathan found you. Pretty cool huh? Now you're stuck dealing with the triple Tutas Team. Wink :)
TLW...ROAR!
Renee,
Great pics! Those Thunderbirds in flight must be an awesome sight...bet they roared louder than TLW!
Renee,
Having this Aviation Nation show here in the valley every fall is great fun for all ages. Ruptured ear drums and cracked necks are just part of the spectator experience, they say.
We always enjoy watching the blue angels when there in Seattle for the Seafair hydroplane races. Looks like a lot fun to be down at the airfield to watch and see the pilots.
