From Halloween to Christmas

Anybody else noticed that one day it was Halloween and the next day it was Christmas in all the stores?

I have three houses with staging in them, one of them is under contract, yippee!   I have a lot of pumpkins in one, real ones, fake ones, little ones, big ones, okay okay I got a little carried away!  The table setting in one is  even orange and black.  Now that it's seem the right  time to bring out Christmas decor, the orange just doesn't feel right.

Thus, I did it.  I brought out some Christmas decor  and added Christmas to one house.  I feel like maybe I am letting Thanksgiving down.  Thanksgiving is all about pumpkin pie, so whats this uneasy feeling with all the orange.  Is there some sort of genetic decor DNA that says the time for orange is past  and one must now put out something that looks a little more like Christmas.  First the fireplace got warmed up with candles.

Second the living and master got red accent pillows.

Third red glass candle holders went on the breakfast bar.

The nice thing about staging, the magic is that a little accent goes a long ways.

You're right, a little bit goes a long way!  It really does make a big difference, the staged homes stand out big time.

Beverly:  First we turned the clocks back.  Then we got the tax credit extended... which messed up everyone's fence-sitting plans.  Now things went from Halloween to Christmas.  I know who is responsible for all of the mayhem.  And... of course, the biggest tragedy of all... today the Cowboy's lost.  It's those dog-gone Republicans again.  Why can't they just leave things alone.  <silly grin>

Beverly,  I don't think I'm ready for Christmas yet, but I sure do like that fireplace in your blog.

Beverly,

Seams like you are able to transition well from one holiday to the next.  We like to keep the fall colors we use in October through the end of November and then transition to the red's in December.  You are right though the store's move from Halloween right into Christmas so quickly.

Beverly, yeah!  It's that time of year again.  And I'm starting to pull out the Christmas stuff already, although I won't actually put it around until after Thanksgiving.  You're right, though.  Halloween is way too early!

Hi Linda,  this is my first  year to  have 5  houses in some staging process  all at  once. This home staging idea is just about to take off in Abilene Texas, One closes this week, another  has a contract on it.  Another house, I am torn is it Thanksgiving or Christmas?  The dining room table is all that really has to tell the story I think!

Patricia,  good idea, wait till after Thanksgiving for Christmas!

Beverly, the fireplace is stunning.  I love slate and it looks like the homeowners have added a little gloss to the tiles ( this prevents them from chalking). This technique really makes the slate stand out in color.   Your staging really accents it well.  Congratulations.

Patty, I'm so glad you like the fireplace.  I am going to pass on your comment to the owner. I know he will be so pleased. Thank you.
