It's Called Christmas!

Mortgage and Lending with V.I.P. Mortgage

I love this song!  A friend sent this to me over the weekend and I just LOVE it!  It's Called Christmas with a capital C!!!

I hope every radio station in the country plays this a lot for the next six weeks. It's okay to say "Merry Christmas" and I for one, will not be giving it up.

You and my wife would get along just fine; It drives her crazy when people say happy holidays!

Very GOOD Jane... i suspect there will be other songs promoting it also.  Good song... those of us who BELIEVE in Christ will not allow what the WORLD does to affect us anyway, knowing that GOD's Word will NOT return unto Him void.... but HIS purposes and plans will be accomplished if the word Christmas is never mentioned!

Jane - I get irritated with the PC effort to take Christ out of Christmas each year. Thanks for the post and song.

I love Christmas too!  My favorite holiday-although I have to say I love all the holidays.  Halloween is a close second.   Merry Christmas is not leaving my vocabulary either.

I prefer "Happy Holidays" since I'm not intimately familiar with many people, and since Jewish, Muslim, and non-Christian dollars spend just as well as Christian dollars, I like to be non-combative and non-confrontational, not to mention tolerant. Interestingly, I don't get any cards or greetings from my Jewish friends saying, "Happy Hannukkah," nor anything from my Muslim friends, so I just prefer to be nice to everyone and try to realize that there are six billion people on Earth, of whom only one billion are Christians.

I love where the songs says we don't say happy holidays in February - we say happy Valentine's Day because that's what we're celebrating...sounds logical to me. Merry CHRISTmas!

I use whatever is appropriate for the people whom I'm wishing on. If I know they are Christian, I say Merry Christmas. If I know they are Jewish, I'll say Happy Hanukkah. If I don't know anything about them, such as the grocery store clerk, I'll say Happy Holidays. I just like to be considerate of others even though they might not reciprocate.

Happy end of year!

I think Jim is missing the point, and a lot of folks do as well.  The holiday is Christian.  Always was, always will be.  The fact that John Wanamaker (founder of America's first department store) found that he could capitalize on the gift-giving part of it to the benefit of his commercial enterprise changed the way Americans celebrate Christmas.  Today, the commercialization of Christmas has diluted the meaning, and it's the buying and selling of gifts that non-Christians recognize, rather than the gift of the Christ Child.  Commerce has co-opted Christmas, but that doesn't change it for me.

Merry Christmas!
