How to Be Happy

Reblogger Kathleen Ann Pacheco-Corbett

This post is so beautifully written by my friend Maya that I need to re-blog.  Life is too short for us not to be happy and love life, Live one day at a time as if it were to be our last, Say I love you  to someone and do what you are passionate about. Listen to your heart and love life.

We all get so busy in our lives as Realtors that we often forget simple things in our lives which bring us happiness.  Only if we can cherish those wonderful moments, not only we will be positive and bring joy to ourselves but to our clients, friends and associates.

Hope you like this reading. We all need this over and over - until it becomes part of who we are!

1.  Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down. (Keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches)

2. Keep learning: Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain get idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!

3. Enjoy the simple things.

4. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with HIM/HER.

5. The tears happen: Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life is ourselves. LIVE while you are alive.

6. Surround yourself with what you love: Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

7. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable,   improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

8. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

9. Tell the people you love that you love them at every opportunity. I love you, my special friend.

10. Forgive now those who made you cry. You might not get a second time.

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

CHARLES: it is for that very reason that we can not let the times we are living in affect our health and wellbeing. Therefore we must make ourselves enjoy what we do have in our lives.  Our family, our faith, our joys in life, don't bury them nor smother them, step aside and SMILE. This too shall pass so do what you love to do now.

Kathleen Ann:  What a great list.  Obviously, some items on the list are a lot easier to follow than others.  It probably would be a great idea to print this post, and carry it with me to look at from time to time.  Thanks for the re-post.  Hope you are well.  Take care...

She makes several great points.  Staying active is very important to being happy.  From the friends you choose to how you spend time, happiness is a choice.

Kathleen they read more like the 10 commandments to a Happy Life. Life is way to short to fret the little stuff or to have unhappy people around us that would merely suck the life from us. Thanks for the repost and for sharing.

Kathleen Ann:  It appears that comment # 11 is SPAM.  I have reported it to Active Rain, and I might suggest you do so, to.  Obviously, DO NOT click on the link.  It could lead to a trojan horse, a virus, or worse.  Just a suggestion.

Also, if you wish, you may delete my comment here... if you don't want it cluttering up your post's comments.  :)

I like 1 & 2.  Not sure I'm mature enough for #10.  As I close in on 50, it's a chore to keep up with technology, but there is no choice.  As far as #1, I try to rid my social life of Toxic People.

Thanks for the reminder to stop and smell the flowers.

KAREN ANNE: Thank you for stopping by I always appreciate your visit and your sincere caring. I felt all of these needed to be re-blogged because it is so true many real estate people have a difficult time simplifying their lives and taking a moment to smell the flowers and live life to it fullest inspite of what is happening around them. We have the choice to make the decision to be happy ir not,

I subscribe to a very inspirational site called "simple truths". and today they wrote about gratitude and Learning to Dance in the Rain

ED: Isn't that the truth. People who are negative and unhappy and grouches need to keep their distance ftom us, because they do drain us of our good Karma and energy.

Thanks for reposting this Kathleen.

We all need a reminder now and again to stop and look at what we have, in our personal lives as well as our business lives.

I know I have experienced this more than once, for when I do stop to look at where I am at,  I've already accomplished some of the goals I had set for myself without even realizing it.

It just proves to me that we have to take the time to stop and reflect on ourselves because the key to success is not in the destination but in the paths we take to get there.

Happy Thanksgiving
