Leander McClain's Shrimp with Garlic SauceLeander McClain's Shrimp & Garlic Sauce

If you know me, you know that I love food and I love to cook.  Here is a great recipe that I made up one day.  It turned out pretty good, so I decided to share it.

5-7 cloves garlic diced

½ -1 large onion diced small

1 small carrot shredded

1/8 green pepper dice small

2 tbs olive oil

1-2 stalks celery diced small

2 heaping tbs flour

2 cups water

seasoned salt

pepper

 •1-1   ½ pounds of  shrimp

Mix flour in 1 cup of water and reserve (put on the side for later use)

Sprinkle 1 ½ tsp season  salt & ½ tsp pepper on the diced onions

Heat oil in a stir fry pan.

Add onions, carrots, green peppers and celery.  Stir fry until onions are wilted.

Add Garlic  and sauté for approx 1 ½ minutes.  Careful not to burn the garlic.

Add shrimp and water with flour.  Add additional cup of water.

Simmer until thick as desired.  Taste and adjust seasoning (add more salt & pepper if you like).

If not enough sauce, adjust recipe to include more of the water flour mixture.

Bon Appetite

Have a Great Day

Larry,

Its simple and tastes great.  If you have a food processor, it makes the prep even quicker.  Make this for your significant other and she will think you spent hours in the kitchen.  Another quick secret, pair this with a bag-o-salad, quart of white rice from the chinese restaurant and a bag of "steam in the microwave" veggies and you will be the Iron Chef for the night :)

Leander Thanks for sharing sounds great. I make a similar dish all the time with out the carrots and serve over linguine.  Last night I made Grilled chicken with red peppers and sun dried tomatoes in a Alfredo sauce over penne it came out delicious can't wait until lunch time and left overs.  Umm Umm Umm

Leander we just finally bought a steamer --- we've been buying food based off of what we can put in there. I wonder if this will work with it ...

Steve,

Not sure if this would work in a steamer would work.  The Garlic & onion kinda need the high heat of the oil to get the flavors out.....but hey, try it and see how it works.

Joe,

Your recipe sounds pretty good too. I have a jar of sun dried tomatoes in the fridge.  Sounds like an idea for dinner.

Have a good one guys

That sounds great. I make a fiery shrimp recipe not too different but with big chunks of red pepper and onion and the Asian garlic chili paste. It's hard to go wrong with shrimp.
