Helping Prospective Buyers to See Your Home As Their Own

Home Stager with Ready 2 Stage

It takes a smart home seller to realize that putting their home on the market is more than just popping a "For Sale" sign in the yard.  It takes lots of work and preparation to put your property in it's best shape for showing.

It's a proven fact that once you have lived in a house for a few years--you can no longer see it objectively.  There needs to be fresh "buyer's eyes" to show you how to present and emotionally connect with those coming to view your house.  Most people think that surely anyone can see past my clutter and see how pretty my house really is!  That is definitely NOT true.  Clutter and too much furniture is very distracting to most people who enter, and statistics show that only 10% of home buyers can visualize and see past the clutter.

Here are some examples:  This is a beautiful kitchen--anyone can see that, but there are things that distract you from seeing the real beauty.  There are knives hanging on the backsplash, tons of spice jars on the hood, a breadbox, and other kitchen utensils, spices and too much distraction on display.  There are also too many books in the island book nook.  De-cluttering and turning on all the beautiful lights were a surefire way to get a great photo for this seller to advertise their most valuable asset--a spacious well appointed kitchen, with plenty of storage space.

#1 on your list of important things to do before putting your home on the market is:  DE-CLUTTERING!!

Be smart and hire a professional to guide you in preparation to sell.

I can see how the homeowner may have considered the kitchen to be acceptable as it was, but, indeed, you made it look better.  Good job.

I too can see how the owner probably was fine with her kitchen.  Just the tweaking that you did absolutely brought out the best in this room.  Now I can SEE the interest in the backsplash and all the woodwork.  Good job!

It feels much more "custom" and high end after your transformation.  What a beautiful kitchen!  Great job!

Ron--the kitchen was absolutely beautiful, just not showing at its best.  Just a few changes made a lot of difference.  Thanks for your comments

Melody--Thanks for your comments.  Small changes make big impact.

Sharon--You notice so much more detail when all the distractions are removed.  Thanks for your comments.

All it takes is a little tweaking in most kitchens. You showed this kitchen in all its glorious detail without all the distracting bits and bobs. Great work.

Michelle--She knew that she had too much stuff, but she just couldn't see what needed to go and what needed to stay.  Very smart to recognize that she needed help!  Thanks for your comment.

Lori,  Great job identifying the "distractions" you reference in your post.  It is a beautiful kitchen, but really shines with the subtractions you made!

Nancy--Thanks for your comments.  Most people may not even notice the clutter in a room, but they just get a feeling of smallness and disorder.  It helps to put away all but one or two items on your counter top.

Linda--Thank You, I appreciate your kind words and agree with you totally!
