If a house falls into foreclosure, and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?

Yes it does and generally it is a sad one.
Charlotte Homes Falling into foreclosures

It's the barker on the courthouse steps.
And the whimper from the owner(s) as the leave they property.
It's the sigh emitted from the neighbors when they find out.
Or the questions from the children.

It's the sound of the times.

It's also a sigh from me as I show the aftermath while looking at the brightly painted children's bedrooms, sitting empty and knowing this was somebody's home.

But every season has a turn. And what was once, can be again.

New sounds come from the home.
Sometimes they are sounds of happy excitement.
Chirps of "can you believe this deal?" to "I never thought we could afford a home like this?"

Rest assured, if a house falls into foreclosure ...It does make a sound.

Very poetic, and so true. I just hope business is good for you so you don't have to supplement your income with poetry, although poetry is nice.

Jim - I'd starve if I relied on writing. Just as I would on playing golf for a living.I love writing and golf. However I'm keeping my day job (and my night job) as a Realtor(R).  But, thank you for the compliment and thanks for the nice comment

Claude it is very sad to hear the sound of home wail as a house of only bricks and mortar.  Well said.

I hate to walk in to those rooms painted up with Spiderman and Princess decor knowing these kids will now be forced to live in an apartment or a rented house where they aren't going to be allowed to paint their rooms and make it their own.

Claude, very  inventive and poignant expression of a reality that has become too prevalent.

Janice - It is too prevalent . Perhaps some sunlight will arrive for these cloud covered homes in 2010. Thank you your complementary comment.

The ripple effects from that sound are heard across the community and the neighborhood for months until somebody new moves in and hopefully starts taking care of the place.

You undermine yourself, Claude.  That was beautifully written.  And as for golf, I am sure you are better than you think.  BTW I have the same problem as you in both areas :)

I heard screaming last week from a seller finding out their home went to foreclosure during a short sale.  Not a happy sound.
