Realtor® in Hockessin, DE

Real Estate Agent with Patterson Schwartz

As a Realtor® in Hockessin, DE I have watched the area grow and triple in population since starting in the business in 1984. Although change and growth has been opposed in many areas of Hockessin I think it has stayed within a reasonable growth pattern. The Greater Hockessin Area Development Association has played a big part in the controlled growth and civic improvement of the area since 1967. As a Realtor® in Hockessin, DE I am highly conscious of different areas of growth not only in Hockessin, but in other surrounding areas. I have a concern for certain areas that have grown too big, too fast. In my opinion, some of this growth that I've seen has done more harm than good in some of the localities. Even though Hockessin has tripled in population since 1990 it is my opinion that the growth has been kept well under control here.

Looking for the right Realtor® is something that should be carefully considered by anyone considering buying or selling real estate. Ask the right questions and make sure you're comfortable with the answers. For example: How long has the Realtor® been in business? Do you have a full time office staff? How do your listing's average days on the market compare with your Board of Realtors®? Why should I hire you? Those are at least some of the standard questions you should ask. Being a Realtor® in Hockessin, DE has been challenging and rewarding as well. My wife and business partner, Diane and I have seen many different changes in the market over the years and now we're definitely in the most challenging market since we've started in business. Although Hockessin is a very popular and sought out area, prices are adjusting to the market just like they are everywhere else. We expect to see short sales in the market place for at least a couple of years to come, however, we believe that the short sale as well as the foreclosure processes will become more streamlined as state and federal laws are passed.

The new Revised and Expanded Tax Credit is definitely piquing interest in the marketplace especially now that qualifying existing homeowners will have a $6500 tax credit benefit going into 2010. We sense that there is a huge pent up demand and we expect it will begin to gain momentum especially in the dawn of the coming year. Being a Realtor® in Hockessin, DE has been very interesting over the years and we look forward to taking part in helping the community.
