All right - let's blog. What's the real value of blogging as a real estate professional? Can you honestly tell me that buyers are out there reading blogs when they are ready to select a realtor? It may be occurring but it sure isn't happening on a scale that would cause me as a realtor to be concerned if I wasn't a "blogger".
I consider myself a fairly hip technology person and I have been a member of Activerain only a short while. For me, someone who sells services to realtors I can see the value of posting blogs here but as a former Realtor I am not sure I really get it - the purpose, the value, the ROI - elludes me for the most part. Who is the audience? Other Realtors? Consumers? Or is it simply to get higher website ranking on Google?
That being said I love being wrong. Perhaps I am really missing the real value. Does having a blog posted here help you get buyers or help you close the listing? Can someone tell me more as to why they would spend the time to post blogs here or elsewhere? Again for me it's the Return on the Investment! What is it!
I myself will continue to post here because I and my company - ListingsMagic.com - focus on technology trends in real estate and I know first hand that few realtors have the desire or inclination to be "technologists". Your time is best spent building relationships with new or even existing clients.
There you have it - blog number one on Activerain. Speaking of ROI - I have spent 1/2 hour here posting this blog! Back to things that I know have a clear ROI...
Happy Selling
