What do you do if you gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now?

What do you do if you gotta go right now?

Unless you live and work in a resort, rental and second home market like I do, this blog may not make sense to you.  The rest of you will definitely "Get It."

Please don't (and don't allow your customers/clients to) use the facilities when showing vacant properties.  Around here folks often turn off the water when the house or condo is not in use.  I can't tell you how many times I've gone into one of those and noticed that a while back somebody used the toilet and then of course, couldn't flush.

If it's my listing, I then have to haul gallons of water to fill the tank.  I know, turning the water on for this task would be easier, except often it's not a matter of turning a valve, it's a matter of calling the water company and since I'm not the owner, they won't even talk to me.  So...I haul water.  Then I fill the tank, flush and clean.  Then more water and another flush.

If it's not my listing I'll do what I wish the last agent would have done.  I call the listing agent and let her/him know what I discovered in their listing so they can go haul water.....

So if you just "gotta go" or your customer/client does, please, go find a public facility and come back.  Even in an occupied home, it's not really appropriate to use the bathroom unless you asked first.

I do live in a secondary home/resort style area, and many homes are only seasonally occupied/water turned off.    I've done your scenario, too!

Awww man, That is the worst!  Some of the condos here on the beach are 3- 6 levels up and those buckets of water get really heavy!  If you do really have to go, atleast turn on the water to the sink first to make sure there is water available...do unto others!

Amen to this request.  I hate hauling water to flush those toilets that shouldn't have been used!

Hi Marian ~ Do you put a note or tape on the seat? One listing I saw - a new renovation not quite complete - we're not a seasonal locale - tied the seat with a big bow - I thought it was a great idea.  It may have had a note too but the ribbon might have been enough. Or you could pull a prank and put plastic wrap across the seat.

I like Liz's idea of putting plastic wrap across the seat...of course, then you would probably have to clean up that mess too.  LOL
