If you're going out for breakfast, lunch or dinner here are some really great restaurants in Hockessin, DE. For breakfast and lunch there's the popular Perfect Cup Cafe that has great coffee and tasty breakfast and lunch dishes for dining in or take out. I make a point to get my coffee beans there! The Perfect Cup is in the small shopping center next to the WSFS Bank at Rt. 41 just past Yorklyn Rd. It's a very cozy atmosphere there. They have wireless internet and they open early at 5:45AM! Another good breakfast and lunch stop with a friendly atmophere is Kim's Cafe in the Shoppes of Hockessin, they open at 7:00 and serve good food in a diner type atmosphere.

For lunch and dinner try out Six Paupers Tavern and Restaurant across the street. It's a bar and restaurant and they have a really nice banquet room in the back for your private parties. Its fine dining with a friendly and semi-casual atmosphere. I love the Mahi-Mahi Fish Tacos at lunch! There is covered outside dining in the front. Another lunch and dinner favorite is The Back Burner Restaurant in Hockessin Corner which is a long time Hockessin favorite for fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. There's also Back Burner To Go right next door for tasty gourmet take out! They have a cozy "Fireplace Room" for private parties. The Grilled Salmon is a winner. Yet another fine dining establishment is Dome which is located in Lantana Square at the intersection of Rt. 7 and Valley Rd. They have a full bar and the atmosphere is upscale casual Bistro style with very good food. Dome is soon to transform as it will become Redfire Grill and Steakhouse after they close for renovations in January, 2010.

For authentic Mexican, try Palacio Maya in the Shoppes of Hockessin! A classic Mexican atmosphere and great authentic food! They also have a "Take Out Taxi" online ordering. If you like Japanese cuisine, try Okura in the Wellington Plaza just up the hill south of the PA border. They open for lunch at 11:00 and dinner at 4:00. The Sushi or Sashimi A La Carte is very tempting!

There's also Casapulla's and Capriotti's both famous for their subs, Pats Pizza which is a favorite and the popular Two Cousins Pizza, Two Fat Guys American Grille and a number of others. Of course if you're really in a hurry there's always the Hockessin Wawa which is always busy! There are indeed plenty of good restaurants in Hockessin, DE.

I went to the Back Burner this week and I wondered if I should write this.  But I feel I must warn people of how bad it is and dirty.  I feel taken when I go to a place I heard was nice but then find out people all over town are talking about how bad it is.  Poorly run and dirty.  The menu is just dreadful, not one good thing to choose from and I do not know who the chef is but if he thinks those flavors go together he is sorely wrong.  WOW how long have they been there.  To me way to long!!! Time for a complete change.  The chef should be changed or something terribly wrong.  I sent meal back 2 times and it never got better.  Horse radish everything, Chef has no imagination if they are a chef at all.  Needs to go back to school, if they went at all.  Try another place cause this one is bloody terrible

Wow! That's a shame, I haven't been there for quite some time, but it was excellent for years! Sorry you had a bad experience.
