Good Evening Friends & Colleagues-
I blog tonight, not to tell my story, or toot my firms horn, but to ask for your help. Gary Keller once asked his agents what makes the "perfect" real estate office, the office that nobody would ever have to leave? This was during the crash in the market in the mid-1980's. Now we find ourselves 2 decades later faced with a changing market, and I would like to direct this same question to you all again!
I spoke with 85 people this week in the industry or related sales fields, and asked the question, "How would you rate your career on a scale of 1-10." the majority were below a 6 and not a single person made claim to a 10. I find this a little shocking why would you be in a career where your happiness was rated below a 6, and a 10 was unheard of? What defines the perfect real estate career? What defines the perfect real estate office? Below I will list some questions, and I hope that you all comment with your honest answers based on your career's as you see them today.
What is the perfect real estate office?
- Your home???
- A ritzy office with a waterfall?? You tell me........
What do you need to become more productive?
- Weekly consulting
- Help goal planning
- Lead generation clinics
- A positive environment
- Specific Training??? You tell me......
Are you working too many hours in real estate?
Would multiple income streams decrease your stress?
Would an effective retirement plan increase your peace of mind in a real estate career?
If you could design your own company to suit your needs today, what would it look like? This is a "sky is the limit" question. How would it run effectively? Is it a Win-Win?
If you are a part time agent, is it by choice, or because Real Estate as a career wasn't enough to sustain yourself or your family? What is your roadblock to becoming Full-Time? What can a company do to support you in becoming full time?
What can we do as an industry to make the career STANDARD a 10 and the goal a 10+. I leave everyone with these questions, and add your own as you see fit. Have fun with this, and remember the sky is the limit!
Sincerely,
Brett Boettge
