Happy Thanksgiving from Akron Ohio to You!

 God Bless America

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.-- Cicero, 55 BC !!!!"

My question this Thanksgiving week! Why must history continually repeat itself??

God Bless America and have a great Thanksgiving! We have so much!

Wow, David - where did you find my favorite quote by Cicero? When I studied Roman philosophy back in 80-s at Moscow State University, I was writing few papers on Cicero's Tusculan Disputations. Back then this quote also sounded very timely.

History repeats itself and people do not really learn a lot from the past. What left is to be thankful for everything we have. Happy Thanksgiving!
