I read a blog on fax machines a while back.  I submitted an contract to the listing agent who actually lives about 5 miles away from my house.  The house is in Covington Louisiana and his office is in Mandeville Louisiana.  Both of us live in Slidell Louisiana.  Because he doesn't have a fax machine at his house he had to drive to the Mandeville office about 35 miles away.  He told me I would get the contract by nine o'clock today.  I called him and of course got the voice mail.  So I called his office and he called right back, go figure.  IO finally received the contract about two hours late and my clients could not wait any longer.  I will have to try and get them to sign the contract tomorrow.  Legally this contract is expired all because this agent won't spend 60 dollars or so for a fax machine at home.  AGENTS GET A FAX FOR YOUR HOME IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY.

John, I comment on this same issue see my post agents without fax machines. I totally agree for less than 100 buck, you can and will do business. Keep in the box and swing for the fence.

Actually you can get one for under $35, or use a printer/scanner, and have them go to your laptop. $795 at costco for a starter....NO cell phone? No PDA....how do they survive?

I am one of those agents who doesn't own a fax machine YET... I have a 9-5 and I use the fax machine there, plus my office is less than 2 miles away.... I know I will need one, but for now I don't feel rushed to get one

I like the scanner - much cleaner copy and easier to send to multiple parties at once. 

My, how did we do this in the old days , before email and the internet?!?!?

How come one of you didn't drive the contract over if you only live 5 miles away?  Or meet in the middle?  I've done a lot of that...may be a little "old school", but, time is of the essence.

I actually left a firm, because all they had was a thermal fax machine and dial up internet. I had to move on, they were not ready to jump to the future and I was.

Just today, my client wanted to send me his financial docs via fax...I have one in my work office, but I rarely ever use it.
