Ewa Beach and Oahu Real Estate are on FIRE! A few weeks ago, I stood in line at 3:30 am, to try reserving a house for my clients to purchase. The home sales office didn't open until 10:00 am. Ewa Beach, Hawaii has some of the newest, most affordable and nicest homes on the island of Oahu. There are two major home builders in Ewa Beach: Gentry Homes and Haseko. Both of these builders have been developing in Ewa Beach for numerous years.
The homes in Ewa by Gentry where Buyers were waiting overnight is called "The Tides". These are single family homes with 1,100-1,300 sf, 3 and 4 bedrooms, 2+ bathrooms and a 2 car garage. The starting prices for these homes is in the mid to high $300,000s. These homes come with warranties from the builder which makes it a little more attractive than a preowned home.
I asked some of the people waiting in line to find out why they were waiting overnight and why they would sleep in their cars. Most of them said they just wanted to buy a house. They knew that if they wanted to buy an affordable, quality piece of real estate on Oahu, they would have to sacrifice spending the night in their car. A few of these people had tried their luck with Hawaii Short Sale Properties but were having no success. They were finding that a very large percentage of the preowned homes for sale in Ewa Beach were short sales.
