Shades of Green is great military facility located on the Walt Disneyworld Resort in Orlando Florida. The resort is operated by the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) branch of the Armed Forces. Located right on the Disneyworl resort, it is within close proximity to all area attractions. Free bus transportation is provided for anyone staying at the hotel. About the only thing that is missing is a good quality restaurant with fine dining. Besides that, it has everything the service member could ask for. If you are a golfer, you will love the fact that the hotel sits adjacent to the Palm and Magnolia Golf Courses. These are the two courses that host the annual, year ending PGA event called the Childrens Miracle Network Classic. The tournament was just played in the middle of November 2009 where Stephen Ames won in a playoff. If you are active duty, retired, national guard, reserves, DOD Civilian or retiree, you will find that this is some of the best accomodations available at reasonable prices. Make your reservations a year in advance because the resort is sold out almost year round.
