Your Back Hurts From Sleeping In Front Of A Maine Walmart Store All Night..To Save Three Dollars.

Black Friday...the do or die, make or break for the American holiday businesses, retailers.

Effective advertising means you feel a little jittery, anxious with sweating palms, shortness of breath wondering if you should be weilding a shopping cart with millions of other shoppers. The next few hours are critical and you wonder what massive savings are you missing out on..the missed opportunity of not pitching a tent to be the first guy or gal in to help Santa and the elves this Ho Ho Home for the Holidays traditon.

Think about it..if you drove all night to get say kids home from college, had stocked the shelves for all the Thanksgiving vittles and then with the lower level of sleep this week under the expanding belt from all the food you pushed thru your pie hole...would camping out with LL Bean tents, gear really be worth it all?

The holiday hoopla to save the five dollars on the electronics you suddenly think you can not live without..that you head in to the retail jungle with a fist full of plastic to bring down, to take home.  And the worry about what if the two per store guarantee stocking is like a musical chair you are not standing next to when "I'll be home for Christmas" stops.

You missing out because of losing a fist fight at the end cap on the race to the register at a big box store.

Hope you are in shape for Black Friday. With real estate, we are lucky to have low priced Maine property every day. Not just for a few hours.

Andrew, It is fun to get a great deal, whether on Black Friday or even more fun at the Real Estate Closing table.  (I've felt like every buyer I had this year, got a better than a Black Friday deal - without camping out!)  All the best, Michelle

Hi Andrew, I enjoyed reading your post. I absolutely agree with it. Personally, I don't shop at all on Black Friday - I won't subscribe to all the craziness.

Andrew - I'm not one to go shopping on Black Friday or late Thanksgiving Day to save few bucks.  To me, that is insane.  The last few years, I asked my grown up children what they wanted for Christmas and they always said CASH so they can pay some bills.  I buy some toys for the grandchildren on the internet.  It's easy, no traffic nor lines to fight.

It is pretty easy to go on line to avoid the "where did I park the car..thought it was by Goofy". But it is fun to hear the tunes, see folks home for the holidays and to think about family, and what YOU want for Christmas. I always buy a little something to help Santa out for myself in the gift giving search. Ho Ho Ho.

Mark Twain said it is a difference of opinion that makes horse races.  Think about voiting if we were all the same it would be apathetic.  It is nice that compassion becomes the silver lining of the holidays and taking a break from work!
