Sunset Behind the Hummingbird in Absarokee, Montana

OK this is not a real hummingbird but I could not help but include it in this photo taken at sunset on Thanksgiving day.  The photo was taken in Absarokee, Montana located about 30 miles northwest of Red Lodge.

Happy Foto Friday!

Hi Gerry,

Nice picture.  Did you know that hummingbirds have to use a rapid whirring movement just to keep aloft?

Dee,

Thank you.  Yes.  It is pretty amazing to see them keep aloft as well as move quickly form one spoot to another.

What a great photo.  Thank you for sharing it.  At least this bird does not have to worry about being part of a feast!  LOL!

Hi Gerry - The hummingbird is gorgeous against the beautiful Montana sunset sky.

While on the topic of hummingbirds, did you know that the O'Keefe Centre in Toronto, later renamed as the Hummingbird Centre around 1996 is now the Sony Centre?  It changed its name in the past couple of years.

Melinda,

Thank you.   This hummingbird was a much easier subject to photograph. :)

Ellen,

You are welcome.  Whoever would think about eating this bird must have a stomach of steel.  LOL

Marc,

Thank you for the feedback.  No, I did not know of the most recent name change.  Thank you for keeping me informed.

Gerry,

What a great and creative use of a sculpture to be a part of your photograph. :)

Hi Gerry, I always look forward to clicking on your blog because I know there will a treat for my eyes! The skyline colors are so vivid and beautiful, the perfect backdrop for the hummingbird metal sculpture. Is the bird from the same metal working family from which you previously blogged?

Steve,

Thank you.  I am always looking for opportunities to taking photos from a different angle or that incorporate an interesting focal point.  :)

Sallie,

You are welcome.  I am glad you liked this duo.   Something (perhaps it was bird) told me that others would also like this combination.  :)

Cynthia,

You know you are a very welcomed visitor to my blog.  Any time you need a treat for the eyes, feel free (like a butterfly drawn towards a flower) to come by and check out my latest photos on my blog.   The bird seen here has nothing to do with the metal art work done by Charles Ringer.   But, you have a great memory to bring it up!  :)
