I think the holiday season is off and running in the Olympia/Lacey area, with so many fun events to share with family and friends!
Lots of bazaars provide unique, handmade treasures for people on your shopping list (or you!) - I attended the annual one at St. Martin's in Lacey yesterday and really enjoyed looking at everything from silk scarves, jewelry, purses and bags, to pickles, jams, garlic sauces and Chehalis melt- in- your- mouth yummy mints. There were toys, table runners, decorations galore - and so many people enjoying shopping for something just a little special!
Tomorrow in downtown Olympia, there will be a singing Christmas tree, Santa Claus, the lighting of the tree in Sylvester Park and more. City of Lacey has their Lighting of the Christmas Tree in Huntamer Park on Thursday, December 3rd. 6 - 6:30 PM along with caroling, hot cocoa or coffee - and Santa.
The annual Parade of Lighted Ships will delight you either on Wednesday December 2nd at 6PM or on Saturday December 5th. This year's theme is "A Special Holiday Tradition" and you can head on down to Percival Landing to make this part of your holiday tradition!
When you are ready to go get that nice fresh Christmas tree, we have lots of Christmas tree farms where you can pick out that very best one - and have the annual holiday conversation about whether Noble Firs or Douglas Firs are prettier - and how tall is our ceiling in the living room anyway!
So in between the rain - or grab your raincoat and come out anyway - there will be lots to brighten your spirits and bring you holiday joy!
