Just outside of Charlotte’s downtown nestled between trendy Plaza-Midwood and historic Elizabeth on the other, you will come upon one of Charlotte’s quaint, cottage neighborhoods: Chantilly. Don't blink... or you'll miss it.
These post-war dollhouses were built when two bedrooms and one bathroom could accommodate a family of four or more. Solidly constructed with hardwood floors, plaster walls and adorable curb appeal, these homes are ideal for people who want a great home in an established area.
With its beautiful oak-lined streets, many renovators and home owners are discovering they can’t beat this terrific in-town Charlotte location. You will see many of the homes have been “bumped up or out,” meaning with attic conversions and room additions houses are going from 1,000 square feet to 2,000 square feet. If you are thinking of moving to Chantilly be sure to stop by after work one day and take a walk. You are sure to run into moms pushing strollers, and friendly neighbors hustling to the dog park to let their pooches have some play time. Ask them how they like the hood.
Perhaps the best thing about Chantilly is its location. You can walk to Elizabeth and Midwood’s shopping districts. Penguin, a popular local eatery known for it's fried pickles and Hemi burger, Commonwealth Animal Hospital and Nova Bakery (Charlotte's best crusty bread) are nearby, while Starbucks, Crisp (terrific salads) and Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find comic book store are a few blocks in the opposite direction. The grocery store, the library and yoga... all in just a few minutes away. With so much to see and do, Chantilly is a great place to call home!
