Phoenix moves ahead with Goodyear airport expansion

Did everyone see that Phoenix is moving ahead with plans to expand Phoenix Goodyear Airport, which it owns and operates southwest of Litchfield and Yuma roads, near Goodyear Ballpark.

The project calls for an 8,500-foot taxiway parallel to the runway. The Goodyear airport handled about 178,000 takeoffs and landings in 2008. Phoenix expects that to nearly double over the next 20 years.

I enjoy having the Goodyear Airport close by with its unique air traffic as I have a fascination with airplanes, but I'm sure that some will see more air traffic as a negative for the area.  Perhaps there is a chance that the Goodyear Airpark area could be developed in the future with more businesses that rely on better airport facilities?  Who knows it could be the next Scottsdale Airpark!
