I was inspired this morning to write an article to encourage more women to buy their home, as 20% of home buyers are single women. In reviewing the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, report on Buying For Themselves: An Analysis of Unmarried Female Home Buyers in June 2006 ... I found a very interesting fact that I wanted to share with my friends at Active Rain.
I was really surprised to find that single women are lease likely to use the Internet to purchase a home. That means realtors need to do some focused networking at events where there is a high concentration of women. "Women home buyers, according to anecdotal evidence, are highly loyal to professionals they feel helped them successfully navigate the home buying process, and more likely to recommend those professionals to their friends." according to A House of Her Own”, Mortgage Banking, June 2005, p. 61.
Want to read my article? Single Women Home Buyers summarizes what I learned in the Harvard report.
Good luck to all those realtors who help women find the home of their dreams and use the current tax credits!
