CARTHAGE CHRISTMAS PARADE. 6pm. Tree lighting ceremony at the old courthouse, followed by the Christmas parade. CHRISTMAS AT WEYMOUTH PREVIEW PARTY. 6pm-9pm. This festive evening features a tour of the beautifully decorated rooms of Boyd House, a grand buffet, open bar and dancing under a lovely tent. SUNEVENTS AT THE SUNRISE PRESENTS "Southern Culture On The Skids." 7:30pm. Tickets $35. Since 1983, when they formed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, SCOTS have played their unique hybrid of Americana, surf, R&B, rockabilly, and swamp pop (the band describes their sound as "toe sucking geek rock - kinda weird, but it feels good when you're doing it"), all the while driving fans into ecstatic, sweat drenched paroxysms of joy. Assisted by his cohorts in white trash renaissance - drummer Dave Hartman and bassist/singer/heartbreaker Mary Huff - Miller and crew have been prolific and ubiquitous for over twenty years. CHRISTMAS AT WEYMOUTH. 10am-4pm. The Women of Weymouth invite the community to their annual fund raiser. Twenty-five rooms in the Southern Historic Home of James and Katherine Boyd will be decorated for the holidays by local garden clubs, professional decorators, florists and individuals. DECEMBER HUNTER JUMPER CLASSIC. A new show at the Carolina Horse Park in Raeford, NC, recognized "A" by USEF and also sanctioned by NCHJA, SCHJA, NAL, and WIHS leagues. 3rd ANNUAL REINDEER FUN RUN. 9am. The Third Annual Southern Pines Reindeer Fun Run 5k Run/Walk is a FUN community event with a goal of 600 participants ranging from serious runners to recreational walkers, families, pets and local businesses. 32nd ANNUAL EPISCOPAL DAY SCHOOL CANDLELIGHT TOUR OF HOMES. 1-6 pm. This year's tour features a variety of homes from across the Southern Pines and Pinehurst area, each uniquely decorated for the holidays. Talented local musicians, singers, and chefs will also be highlighted in several of the residences.
