This is the time of year when we all become a bit nostalgic and look back on the year that will soon be gone. I know as the ears have passed by, the calendar seems to have sped up without permission. My grandfather passed away at 94 years old and told me, when I was in my twenties, that the years go by quicker than any of us are prepared for. Being born in 1900 he would know, as he watched technology completely change his world.
Be that as it may, we have all experienced 2009. Regardless of what our outlook on life it has passed us by and now we look a new decade in right in the eyeball. The magazines will be full of things that happened as we came into the millennium and the world survived. Without permission form the soothsayers I might add. But what was our outlook on the new millennium and how has the first decade ended in your life? I've had days when I would trade lives with a skid row bum, and others when bill Gates was too poor to in my presence. I prefer those days when bill would serve me as opposed to those other days, but that just makes me normal. But what really happened to us personally this decade? The answers could be huge and overwhelming if you were alive and paying attention.
I was divorced and remarried. My new wife survived breast cancer. My two eldest children married people I truly love and appreciate. I got two twin grandsons that are so much cuter than anything I've seen so far. Don't even try to argue with me on that one, it would be foolish!! I even went broke a couple of times. But what does money mean in the big scheme of things anyways?
This past year was quite challenging in many areas. My wife's health seems to have finally stabilized. This is always good! I was really sick on March of this year and almost went to the other side of the grass. I found this out weeks after I was released from the hospital when the surgeon let it slip. I now know that I am one of two people I know of that survived acute pancreatitis. I heard about two dozen or so deaths related to that illness that I didn't want to hear about, ever! My wife almost watched her second hubby take flight apparently, what a terrible experience for her. So I lived through it and the juries still out on whether she appreciated it or not. (That's a joke; send your cards and letters to Jay Leno)
So, here's to a better year and a better decade to all of us on a personal level. I know that I want to help people make their lives better in whatever way I can, on a personal and professional level. I look forward to seeing you again soon and hearing what has been going on in your life.
Love ya big bunches!!
