1st snow of winter 2009

Real Estate Agent

We woke up this morning to the 1st snow of the season in anticipation of 3-4" and it delivered!! This photo was taken around 8:30am.  The flakes were so large, they looked like feathers falling from the sky. It fell until around 4:00pm and then stopped. Of course the ground and road is so warm, nothing stuck (on the road at least) but it is nice to see the Christmas lights bounce off of the white snow.

Now tomorrows temps. is supposed to be in the 40's.  Good bye snow for now....but it'll be back...ole man winter promises!!

We actually had snow here in the deep South last Friday! It was nice seeing it fall, but everything was so warm that there was certainly no accumulation. Imagine, we had not even had the first frost of the year, and then we got SNOW! That's an exciting event for us!

Looks like your dog had a great time!

Thanks for posting the pics. It's nice to see winter sometimes.

I was so excited about our first snow. Now that snow seems mild in comparison to what we're supposed to get today and tomorrow.  The predictions are 2 feet!  It's really coming down out there & we're at 2" so far!

Just in time for Santa. Bring it on!

Today Saturday, Dec. 19th we woke up to 10 3/4"  ~ 30 minutes away in Roanoke they woke up to 18".  The inches, however, are not the problem, all of the snow drifts have halted the town. I have a 3' drift beside my porch.

They anticipate 3-6" more today.  It is beautiful and everyone is stranded at home, so no worries!

My Sons Honda is buried...lets hope the snow plow sees it when they come by :)

Just heard that interstate 81 had 1000 cars stranded and the National Guard was called out to take them to a shelter.  Most of those are students. Virginia Tech held their commencement last night, so the kids were late getting out. Radford University called theirs off after the snow started, but the problem is some of the kids didn't get to take their final exams.

My Son was supposed to graduate this morning at 10:00am so now we wait to see when or if he'll get to walk across that stage. He doesn't care one bit but I am gonna feel robbed if I don't see him in that cap & gown walking across the stage.

i hear the airports are a holding cell. Has anyone got kids waiting to come home for Christmas?
