Change Is Consistant

Transitions represent change. Tina and I have had our share of transitions/changes this past year. My youngest son went into middle school; my middle son moved to California; my daughter moved out into her own place; my oldest son and his wife moved back closer to home. Wow - what a crazy ride.

Just yesterday I was in at Kroger (closest grocery store) to pick up a few things and I commented to Tina that I missed the days when Jeremy (my middle son) worked here. This time last year, he was working as a cashier. As I reflect on change, I'm reminded that there are some constants in my life and in our culture.

1. Everyone needs love. I'm committed to my wife through all of the transitions. Our love grows deeper and different as the years go flying by. I'm committed to my children as their dad. I can't imagine a circumstance that we make me not still love them.  I'm committed to share the love of Christ with everyone I meet. His love should be reflected in how I conduct my business to how I conduct my self in the checkout line of the grocery.

2. Everyone needs each other. God created all of us. He created us to to first of all - Love Him. Be He also created us to love and help one another. It blows my mind that I blow enough money on stuff to dig a well in Africa and provide water for a whole village.  I must start making a difference to others.  I can also stuff backpacks of food for the hungry right here where I live.

I must make changes in my life and adapt to the changes that happen around me and without my permission! Change is consistently different. I must adapt and adjust.

Pressing on!!

Sounds like there were lot of changes in your life recently. I agree it is a part of life and we have to just accept it.

Good post. When the last child heads to college and the home becomes just a house again, it is quiet. Stay tuned, other adjustments ahead.
