Question about Active Rain?

I am a newbie to Active Rain and I must say that I have become absolutely addicted in a very short amount of time. As a person who likes to devour information I am flummoxed about two particular things on this website and I am hoping than someone can give me the answers am I am seeking.

First what is this association thing? Why is it different than associates and why do I want to be a part of it?

Secondly, why is there not an area on Active Rain for me to ask the above questions? You know like a question and answer area.

Please, please someone HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Marie, You should check out the "Search" tab at the top, and type in keywords of your questions. I do that for a lot of the subjects, to see what is already out there. Welcome to Active Rain!

The AR New Member Group you have this posted in answers these types of questions.

As far as Associations go...That is for you to make a list of the folks you like to read on a daily basis. You can either associate with them or subscribe to their blog.

Personally I prefer to subscribe to other members blogs. That way I can see on the front page whether or not they have written a new post.

When you have specific questions that aren't answered by search, go to the bottom of the page and click on contact active rain. It may take a day or two, but they will get back to you.

Thanks Judi, You know what is amazing to me is how much I've learned in such a short time on this site and how positive everyone else is. I had joined another site just for Mortgage brokers and while the posts were amusing they were generally on the pessimistic and sarcastic side. I don't know if it has anything to do with what is going in the market place and so the temperature on that site was on the cool side, but I have been doing this for 5 years and I have always been a glass half full kind of person.

Welcome to Active Rain. You have done the right thing by asking your question in a post. There are many people here to answer your questions. In the newbie group, in the left hand side are a couple of posts that have links to just about anything from blogging, to links to associations and associates. You can read there for hours. But these posts will answer most of your questions.
