Possible Help When Faced With Foreclosure

By

In doing research for a family faced with foreclosure in my local area, I googled something that I had not noticed on deeds in years past.  MERS .What I found was very enlightening, and hopefully helpful to millions of families that were given loans that they couldn't afford to begin with, then humiliated by a course of events that followed. I want to share this information in hopes that it will help others to not give up when they feel that they are faced with losing their home. We'll have to watch to see how this all plays out, but my hopes are that for those that were duped by greedy lenders, they will find relief with the system of justice that is there to protect victims. Not all were, but I believe many are victims of a criminal act, and deserve a break.

Jane,

I don't know how many this will work for.  Should they eventually produce the note could they then follow through with foreclosure or is there a time limit?

I don't have the answer to that question. This is something that is new to me, and only because I know of a family in my area faced with foreclosure because they were given a loan they couldn't afford in their later years. Their house was paid off, in their retirement and were enticed into a no doc loan. It looks like a set up. I'm researching this to try to help them out. Good question. Thank You.
