My Business is NOT Your Business

I need to vent...I just had someone tell me (once again) how great it must be to be a Realtor. I drive a Cadillac (it has 140,000 miles on it), I have a nice ring (it's fake), I must make a lot of money....

Let me tell you that 30% of my commission goes to my office/Broker, and then 15% goes to the IRS, listings are not paying 6% anymore, no, more like 5% IF you're lucky, and you have to split that. If it's a short sale, then there's the fee to the servicer, and not to mention, the Transaction  Coordinator fee. And time? What time? What schedule? We are at the beck and call of everyone who has to see that perfect house right now!

Do I want to do anything else? NO WAY! Do I think it's worth it? ABSOLUTELY. But VERY VERY few of us are rich. I'm just going to keep on going until I become one of the very few....

I was at a seminar and on eof the speakers said, "I do not know what the million dollar club is but I would like to be part of it." Afterwards I told her, Hey you sell 1 mil in real estate . Assume you are 1/2 of the deal you make 3 percent . So you have made 30K in commissions BEFORE brokers fees, and MLS fees. I twas a real eye opener for this person.
