My first post to this blog, thanks for reading, and come back often for new information.

Here is the deal.  I just went through the National Association of Realtors quarterly market stats, and it turns out (you may already know this) that we are currently in a perfectly balanced real estate market!  What this means is that we don't have too many or too little listings.  There was a time in the last year when we actually had too FEW listings, which you wouldn't expect considering all the doom and gloom we hear on the news everyday.

What this means for us : this is GREAT NEWS.  Our market is very strong.  Yes, we still have a lot of short sales and foreclosures (my area of expertise), but we are balanced, so neither a buyer or sellers market.

Also, we are quite lucky in this part of the world to have NOT LOST VALUE!  Our values have held strong, unlike many many less fortunate areas of this county.

That is all for now, leave me a comment so I know you were here!

Ben,

You bring up a good point. I believe that home sales rose 10 percent in november alone. It actually sparked a huge rally in the stock market a couple of weeks ago. (that was from home sales in the midwest) Poor people in Detroit lost 90 percent of their home value. They are actually trying to give away properties in Michigan, just so the government can collect property taxes... ( I know crazy) Colorado is in good economical shape. According to Forbes we are the 29th fasted recovering city's (Denver) and one of the top 5 recovering states. Also according to Wikipedia, Denver  is the most deversified City in the United States. At all in's be glad your in Colorado. We have a great economy.

Thanks Ben for the good info,
