The Apple iPhone - I couldn't resist!

Yes, it's true - I did it.  I couldn't help myself.  My Treo ( which I've had a IPhone 001love/hate relationship with since I got it - more HATE than love) had been misbehaving and if you know me, you know I LOVE technology, so I just had to do it.  I must admit it's a rockin' little thing!

I haven't even discovered all of it's talents yet - spent yesterday sync'ing my address book and getting the blue tooth to work, but it's MINE!  MINE ALL MINE!  No lines, plenty of help at the Apple Store in Clarendon!  VERY knowledgeable sales folks, and friendly too!

It was a totally different experience than any other phone I've ever purchased.  After you play around a bit, and talk with the friendly Apple sales folks, you just go up to the counter and say "I want one, please!"  And they hand you one (after you fork over a lot of money - because of course you need the blue tooth device, the car charger, etc...).  IPhone 004

Then you take it HOME, plug it into your computer and go to iTunes to set it up.  So it initializes, you set up your service plan w/AT&T Wireless, (which is the ONLY carrier that will work with the iPhone) and you're off to the races.   In fact, the plans were so good that when my husband came home, I suggested that he might want to get one too and we could be on a family share plan.  Never have you seen a man move so fast as he did heading out to the Apple store with our son last night!  They were both happy guys!  So that's it - that's the story - we now have 2 (how will we ever tell them apart?) - I guess I'll have to paint mine or something.

So this morning, I head out into the world just waiting for my phone to ring.  I'll certainly be smiling!IPhone 013  After all - who wouldn't be?

Notice my breakfast of champions in the background!  Also, I know I'm not as good of a photographer as the Apple ad firm, but it's MINE!

Happy Tuesday!

Jennifer- I know how you feel. I got the phone as well and boy i'm hooked. I thought it was so cool that I plugged my phone into the computer and how easily it synced with outlook and uploaded all my contacts. I didn't have to input it one by one. I've got movies on it, songs. Hubby even found a program for grocies list. All i have to do is check off what i need and viola the list is there, and it can be a favorite where i get the same things every week. I thought it was pretty cool.

I'm enjoying every bit of it. Have fun!!!

Jennifer, I love technology, but sometimes i do not want to pay when it is just released, the prices are skyrocket, I know that is the best phone available right now, but what is the price right now ? 599 ?  I am not willing to pay right now 600 for a phone, even when it have the most goodies in the world, depends every person :) I can wait a little bit until it drops more haha !. It does not affect me to wait 3 or 4 months or more, depends the need. Good luck with your new gadget or widget ? LOL, I was laughing when I saw that Windows Vista is a copy of Macintosh Operating system   Widgets or Gadgets ? :)

I hear ya Ray.  However, Apple does not usually follow the price drop trends - so you might just be waiting a while.  The 4BG phone is only $499 (I know, *only*) but communication is the most important part of our business and while I'm sure I could have gotten a functioning phone for way less, the negligible difference once all is said and done is 1 rental check...  that's how I see it.

Scott - yes, you have to look past the money already spent - I had to cancel a service contract and will incur costs for that as well - but it is what it is...  if you're nice, I'll let you see it! :P

I'm a bit late to this party.  I'm so tempted to get the iPhone...it's amazing.  Only, for my business, the Treo works too well for contact management.  I can't imagine scrolling through my 2500+ contacts with an iPhone.  When they get more business-y, I'm in!
