I've been up late these past many nights working on offers and counter offers, and various other things related to helping folks buy a new home, and the light bulb that provides the main light for our two desks burned out. It was just your standard 60-watt light bulb but I couldn't find any spare light bulbs and really didn't want to make a late night trip to Wal-Mart even though they are a mile away and open 24 hours a day. I did notice that we have a few hundred thousand or so 45-watt bathroom heat lamp spotlights, so I put one of those in the hanging lamp as a temporary measure. No more than 15 seconds after I did that then I had a little visitor decide to come in from the garage and make herself at home on the printer, making it very difficult for me to print things. The extra heat from the heat lamp now makes her think that the printer is her home any time the light is on, and she seems to like it best when the light is shining directly on her golden tummy. If you find that your cat is being antisocial this winter season, probably all it needs is some food, some love, a pooper scooper, and a heat lamp!

Hi Jim - Zoey's got the right idea! We've had freezes the last few nights, and I could use a heat lamp myself!
Jim - now my cat Carely wants a heat lamp... See what you have started. She loves Zoey's photos.
Jim,
What a great photo. Cats are the only one's, that can get away with laying anywhere and everywhere! She definitely looks comfy.
But Jim that is the perfect spot! Our cats know that too! Except I can't have them on the printer anymore since the jammed the old one with hair! ~Rita
What a beautiful cat! My cat likes to sunbath. I've seen a cat without his upper whiskers (over his eyebrows) because he sat to close to a blacksmith's furnace.
Jim - How wonderful. My dog knows how to open the back door when I am not home. This is a recent thing he has learned. I kept coming home and finding my back door open. I of course thought who is in the house, was a robbed!? The house was fine. So, it happened again and again, until I realized by 24 pound dog was pulling on my cloth bags that I hang on the handles of the door. These bags are the recycling ones so I don't use plastic bags at the grocery story. He would pull and pull until the lever not knob handle would open the door!!!! UGH!!! I no longer hang my cloth bags there!
She is soooo cute :) Of course that heat lamp accents her belly really well.
Funny story, Jim - and helpful, too. I've got a couple of little dogs that seem to get cold every day, so I'm going to give the heat lamp thing a try.

Zoey the Cool Cat is used to being a star and just needed her spotlight to make sure that her fans could see her properly!
;)
Jim what a funny story! My cat does the same thing. When I am trying to work she is right there trying to get in the middle of what I am doing.
Our cats love the printer for the neat sounds it makes........I have not caught them sitting or laying on it yet. Zoey is so cute!
Zoey likes to hog the spotlight! Maybe you should enroll her in acting classes.
Hi Jim,
How comical! Thanks for your post, cute photos of Zoey & heat lamp tips! Now my cats will want one too!
Rita
Hey, Jim. I don't know if Ms. Zoey likes all the spot light. Too cute, Jim
What a delightful way you have with words. You might want to take a look at my publisher's brand new book "Cat Lover's Book of Days"
Hey, Craig - It might be a god's life in some homes, but not this one!
Hey, Sharon - In the most unlikely of positions, too!
Hey, Susan - Freezes in Fair Oaks? What's wrong?
Hey, Ellen - Anywhere and everywhere.
Hey, Joan - So did you get Carely one for Christmas?
Hey, Michael - Zoey the Cool Cat doesn't get to lie on the piano, kitchen table, or kitchen counters. Anyplace else and she's okay.
Hey, Rita - I vacuum our printer occasionally. LOL
Hey, Dee - How sad. Our little kitties need all those facial whiskers.
Hey, Christine - What dogs and cats want, they can often get, one way or the other.
Hey, Gene - For the most part, they do. But sometimes they need to relax and take it easy, too.
Hey, Al and Peggy - Cool self? She's mischievous. LOL
Hey, Shoshana - I noticed that her little golden tummy was much more golden in the pictures with the heat lamp on.
Hey, Jenny - She is, but possibly because someone else in this household scoops her poop. I'm just not a pooper scooper.
Hey, Rick - I have a few thousand more here if you need one. LOL
Hey, Mike - Let us know if your doggies like it.
Hey, Betina - That might be an understatement.
Hey, Debra - Yet when we want to play, they are asleep somewhere.
Hey, Ann - Zoey the Cool Cat likes the sounds of the printer warming up, but recently she has discovered that the scanner makes even better noises.
Hey, Georgina - Yea. An acting cat would surely bring her back down to Earth!
Hey, Rita - I'm presuming you got your cats a heat lamp for Christmas.
Hey, Jim - I think she likes the heat lamp. It's the camera that she can do without.
Hey, Margaret - We have Peg's book. It's great.
